The Alannah and Madeline Foundation is a national charity protecting children from violence and its devastating impacts. The Foundation was set up in memory of Alannah and Madeline Mikac who were tragically killed with their mother and 32 others at Port Arthur, Tasmania on 28 April 1996.
The Foundation cares for children who experience or witness serious violence and we run programs which help prevent violence in the lives of children. We advocate for the rights of children and we are a voice against childhood violence. The Alannah and Madeline Foundation’s vision is that every child will live in a safe and supportive environment.
